About Tim

Tim Gerhards is an 18-year-old Dutch racing driver based in Amsterdam. Born on July 7, 2007, he is the son of Peter Gerhards, a six-time Dutch champion in touring cars and formula racing, and the twin brother of fellow racer Nick Gerhards, who has since stepped away from racing. In the Gerhards household, motorsport was never just a hobby. It was a way of life.

Growing up in Amsterdam, playing football at AFC Amsterdam and spending race weekends in the pitlane watching his father work, Tim developed a competitive edge and a mechanical understanding that most drivers never fully acquire. At eight years old he got behind the wheel of a kart for the first time. He never really stopped. Over the next years he raced across the Netherlands and Europe, winning the BNL Karting Series, finishing second in the Rotax Junior category and claiming the Rotax Max Euro Trophy in 2021, one of Europe's most prestigious junior karting titles. He then competed at the FIA Karting World Cup before making the transition into car racing.
The single-seater years that followed were a test of a different kind. Racing in Spain and across Europe against some of the sharpest young talents in the world, Tim experienced both the highs and the hard lessons that come with stepping up. A difficult 2025 season could have been a low point. Instead it became a turning point. A test in an LMP3 prototype at Portimao made everything clear. Endurance racing was where he belonged.
Today Tim competes in the Michelin Le Mans Cup 2026 with More Motorsport. He is also one of nine drivers selected for the KNAF Academy talent programme. With the Road to Le Mans on June 12th as the standout moment of the season, he is building towards one goal: Le Mans.

Off the track, Tim is 1.85m tall and manages his weight and fitness with the same discipline he brings to racing. Daily training, nutrition and data analysis with his engineers are as much part of his routine as the racing itself. He builds his career alongside his father Peter, who remains his closest advisor both on and off the track.

Tim's story is one of consistency, resilience and progression. For brands and partners looking to align with a driven, authentic and rising talent in international motorsport, this is the moment to get involved. The journey is just beginning.
